My thoughts
- Started very well but couldn’t execute on their line
- Too many silly errors
- Brooks is still a worry. His passing under pressure just isn’t good enough. I say that as a Brooks fan
- Looked far better in the second half when we played more direct
- Defensive lapses are a worry but hopefully will improve with conditioning
- Laurie just doesn’t have the all round game to be an NRL fullback. A real worry as we have no obvious replacement.
- As poor as we were, we looked far better today than we did at the start of last year. I can see what Sheens and Benji are working towards. Last year, after Round 1, I didn’t think we would win a game all year
Round 1 last year? When we were equal with storm after 60 mins?

Titans first up was always going to be be a tough task. They have our number.
@tigertownsfs Did you watch Brooks? his kicking game was woefull. There’s a lot of people on Laurie’s back but he was way better than Brooks. As long as he is at 7 things won’t improve for our attack
Having a look at how we played, how our halves interacted with others and how our kicking game unfolded, I'm thinking it can't hurt to put Laurie at 7.
He isn't going to be a top line fullback, but his heart and effort is what we need at 7.
Brooks had no kicking game, and no organising at all. His hands were terrible, hard passes, dropped balls.
We honestly wouldn't be losing any organising at all if Laurie was at 7, but gain natural eyes up football.
It's a massive call after one game, but as a long time supporter and believer in Brooks, today was a huge concern. Api looked up so many time asking what to do. Cleary he had no halfback demanding the ball.
Ive just got back from the game and havent watched a replay, but didnt Brooks get 2 restarts from kicks?
Yes but a lot of mistakes was due to excessive offloads or forced passes. We have a good forward pack and we just wanted to pass the footy.We needed more go forward today.@mike so true mike can’t complete at 57% and expect any other result

Just got home from the game and feel very frustrated. Ill have to watch a replay because at the game i genuinely didnt see what some of you were seeing.
1. Brooks wasnt horrible, I actually thought he had a great game other than a dropped ball and hitting Naden in the chin. When the ball went left Brooks speed straightened and engaged the defence well and definitely better than previous years. Whenever there was a Titans dropped ball it was usually Brooks scrapping for it and his kicking game was much improved with 2(?) restarts forced.
2. The Api hate amazes me. At the game, I was impressed and excited to have him. he does so much from dummy half that we havent had since probably Farah, but the way he engages the markers it was noticable that Titans defence compressed around the ruck when Api came on. The team needs to get used to him though and there seemed to be a few time some disjointed timing between runners and Api.
Other thoughts.
3. The first 15mins is a s dominant as Ive seen a Tigers team in many years.
4. Our defence in their half was much improved and at times brutal.
5. Ive ridden AD for most of last year so its only fair to say in attack he looked really good tonight.
6. Naden is a good one.
7 So is Klemmer, very happy to have him.
8. Nofoaluma is a grade 1 tosser. Down 18 to 6, when we got a scrum (then turned over after Titans challenge) Nofa literally did a dance. Just play football mate, you are losing.
9. Great to see Joffa get worked up. not sure who it was but he wanted to kill someone out there tonight. Foran?
10. Unbelievable unforced errors cost us the game. Laurie not competing the bomb, IP running out and then all the dropped ball.
11. For much of the game, I actually thought it is the best we have looked in over 4 years but stupid errors cost us badly.
12. Kepaoa looked strong as did Blore briefly. Im in two minds about TT.

I thought brooks was very average. Very disappointed that a full offseason with sheens and he played pretty much the same as the last 3yrs except maybe slightly better short kicking game. Very worried if we get stuck with brooks as part of a Moses deal
The lack of an onfield game manager is going to kill our season.
The lack of organisation in attack was clear and too many plays wasted by players not knowing what was meant to be happening.
This may improve as the season goes on but after a full pre season working on attacking structures it should have been much better.

Too much sideways, to much hesitation in running, too many errors.
Titans defended well but we didn't throw enough at them, too much side-to-side, crabbing and hospital passes. Every year I kill for someone, just 1 or 2 people, with the hole-running ability of Chris Lawrence or Gareth Ellis. It's not a lot to ask for some new player or junior who knows how to run into holes instead of looking for contact every time.
