Went to the big bash last night with my brother. Watching Wade was mesmerising. But apart from that it was just so boring. We left with 8 overs to go. The game has no substance and watching blokes tee off ball after ball loses appeal quickly. Cricket is a contest between bat and ball, big bash isn’t. The lack of a crowd would indicate many are feeling the same.
Ive got tickets for the first three days of the Sydney test and I can’t wait. I’ll be engrossed in every ball. But last night? I just wanted to get home. And I’m a cricket tragic.

I have absolutely no interest in 20/20 cricket, I don't think I have watch it in about 10 years. Even worse I think it damaged one day cricket which I love.
If they wanted a change I would have much preferred them splitting a 50 over game into 2 innings. So each side has two 25 over innings. I think that would have been much interesting.

Yeah I reckon that idea has great merit. Not sure why it’s never been trialled. Probably because we can’t seem to concentrate on anything for more than about a minute and a half these days lol
Can I just say the levels they stooped to keep the Tournament running was embarassing ...the fact that one of the world's best players can't get a run because they changed the rules is ridiculous

The whole tournament is embarrassing. The quicker it goes broke and people with nothing to do with cricket get the hell out of the way the better.
The whole thing is predicated on Indian money.
I haven't seen one ball of the entire tournament.

Cricket Australia have milked the golden goose dry. No tribalism, teams change every year and the best Australian players are unavailable.
far too many games shorten the season

I agree, a 0 game season would be perfect lol

lol haha too much hit and giggle
@garry nah they tried the split formula about 10 or so years ago at state level and wasn’t a success. Big bash has got a future but only if it’s a shorter season and overseas players are available again. Covid has punished the product for the last couple years, but there is a way out I hope. I’m a fan and would like to see it get back up and firing again. Helps that I’m a scorchers fan living in Qld
