Broncos territorial advantage dropped as soon as Haas went for a spell.
Haas hip drop deserved the bin. Why is this happening, is it coached...it definitely is a wrestling technique.
Crowd is good tonight considering the bad weather.
Back in the day... believe me I'm old enough to say that... tacklers around the waist would drop their dead weight, legs out the back and simply get dragged along.
These days that's the not acceptable, the tackler tends to pull his body weight into the tackle, legs under his own body, which effectively drops his body weight onto the legs of the advancing ball carrier.
It's that simple.
If the hip-drop is to be avoided, tacklers need to return to dropping their legs out the back first, weight to the ground earlier than they are now.
Commentators saying this tackle has always been around have very short memories. Yes it has been around the earliest I remember is the Tank (Wests Tigers) being a victim in '10 or '11, smashed his ankle, ended his career (Parramatta game). Not much since then. But too much now.
If you want to get rid of the hip drop and other such tackles just reward good legs tackles. Give them time to get to marker
yep your right with haas tackle mate. The tackled player did the splits 🤣Don't agree mate. This was a momentum issue, not intentional weight drop.
This is a rubbish game of footy.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
This is a rubbish game of footy.
I’m watching thinking how did we not beat the bulldogs. Also wondering if Ciraldo will live up to the hype.
Good point which makes coaches like belly ache more credible, how many times has he made forced changes due injuries only to come up trumps.Ciraldo has the (pretty legitimate) excuse of massive injury list.
I think he will be a top coach, better as he gains experience.
I hope Kalyn Ponga doesn't get anymore head knocks. That headgear won't help with the brain hitting the inside of the skull, trust me, my brain has been permanently injured..... it's pretty good for getting out of washing up duties though 🤣
