Emily Curtain has again been named captain of the senior women’s team. Although missing from the season-opener, Curtain has continued to impress as a leader on and off the field.
After leading the side to Grand Final victory in 2022 as captain and halfback, the 21-year-old will be looking to make a strong return from off-season knee surgery in the early rounds of 2023.

In 2023, the U/19s women will be led by Jae Patu; one of the squad’s senior players who has worked well with the largely new group of players in leading training sessions and setting cultural standards.

Both players completed their first pre-seasons with the NRL side this off-season, with Feledy now a 2023 NRL Development Player.

Knock On Effect NSW Cup
Western Suburbs Magpies vs South Sydney Rabbitohs - Kick-off 5:30pm
Jersey Flegg Cup
Wests Tigers vs Ryde-Eastwood - Kick-off 7:00pm
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
The NSW Cup trial at Lidcombe Oval today was a disappointing spectacle for Magpies/Tigers fans.
The home side started well but were completely outclassed by Souths.
Things were much brighter in the Jersey Flegg trial with an impressive Wests Tigers side running rampant against Ryde-Eastwood.
Head coach Tim Sheens was in attendance, along with a handful of first grade players including Adam Doueihi and Justin Matamua.

I see you took notice of my post!

Was anyone in attendance for the NSW cup trial on Saturday? Seems to be plenty of write ups about junior action but very little on NSW Cup?
Was there a Flegg trial as well in the evening? Lack of coverage is pretty poor from the club IMO.
From what I can gather
- while we were beaten convincingly but may not have played our best side because Cup players will go to NZ for the Warriors game this week
- Jimmy Ngutlik hurt his knee
Was anyone out there? Did Bula play Cup or Flegg?
Cheers
Thank god the footy is back - go Tigers!
