I think its a decent team for a first trial, i did expect to see Makasini in there, however the reality is we cant use him till later in the season so better to give the available fringe players a run and see what they deliver. Hopefully skelton has a decent hit out against his old club, I'm guessing they will look to expose the defensive deficiencies he had last year...could be a good measure of our teams defensive coaching in the pre-season if he has a solid hit out.
It will be interesting to see that aspect of our game & Jeral’s defence although being inexperienced and new to the squad & this backline there might be an issue or two, hopefully not but we’ll see. In terms of the defence as a whole I doubt we’ll be great but coming off such a poor record last year we’ll no doubt be better. Yes merely suggesting that the stability we seek could also come from greater self discipline on the field.
Attitude in defence and discipline are in our control, regardless of opposition or circumstance.
