@teddy_s Madden will be the closest the club will have to an experienced 7 next season . The pursuit of Reynolds said it all and the club knows an organiser is required hopefully Madden fills the void . Latu back to reserve grade or to 13 IMO he is a long way off has the potential!

Latu has a mistake in him and he has been taking the wrong decisions in attack over the past month. I’m putting it down to inexperience and lack of confidence. Hopefully he gets his reps up. He actually looks most comfortable to me at 13 and he certainly has the physicality to play there at the moment. That role also gives him capacity to cover a bit of 9 which relieves our bench needing that cover. I like him as a 14 or even a starting 9 and Api comes on after 20. Then in the second half he just plays 13 for whenever the game needs him. I don’t think NSW cup is the solution

That was be first game in which the spine of Bula/Luai/Latu/Api have started and played 80 mins.

Way too early to be passing judgement on them as a collective.

The lack of good last tackle options yesterday was a big concern, we're still "at sixes and sevens" since Galvin took the exit. Does helicoptering Madden into the side fix it straight away?

Whoever the coach plans to play #7 next year will have a full off-season to train there, and hopefully we see a big improvement... that shouldn't be hard to do!

Agree, we have the ability to play razzle dazzle, but sometimes we just need to be a bit more controlled and strategic imo.

Personally I think the red zone issues relate to the short pre season and disruption to our spine this year. I think Latu is perfectly capable of running good shape whilst Luai makes havoc on the edges. We have also looked best when Hunt is running crash plays into fast play the balls to get the defensive line on its heels. We should be letting Latu take over in the red zone and play to specific structures ie get to a certain point and setup for shape, getting all the 2RF and centres running lines etc. From there let instinct take over for option selection but the number of wasted tackles and end is set kicks in the red zone are diabolical
