The panthers were just too good. Even their outside backs in Tago, McLean and Jenkins were dominating us with their hit up’s.

My word is urgency, as in lack of. I understand we were tired but still no desire to do the basics (run straight and hard, kick chase etc). Way to placid in defence!

Big thumbs up to Tuvura who did give 100% and Taylan May for also having a go.

I'm saying my word is "18". I know it's a number!!!! At the 18th minute we chose to kick a penalty goal instead of continuing to attack which told the Panthers we don't think we can score a try against you so the Panthers took the game from there with increased confidence. Their line speed was amazing all game.

I do think Taylan May and Turuva kept trying to the end and our halves had no momentum or space to work with. Toa is fading away. Just about all of our kick ended up with Edwards catching them uncontested and then running 10 to 20m.

All the teams below us or on the same points are playing much better football so I am a bit worried about who will end up with the cutlery.

My word or rather number is 18. When we decided to take the 2 points from a penalty inside the red zone at the 18th minute, we told Penrith we didn't think we could score a try and so they turned it up and took the game from there. We also convinced ourselves we couldn't score a try too which was disappointing.

I do think that Taylan May and Turuva still thought we had a chance and kept trying though. Toa is fading away week by week. AD was not our best this week for certain. Our halves had no space or momentum to work with. Almost every kick ended up in Edwards arms uncontested.

The teams currently below us are all playing better football than us and I am starting to wonder if we could end up adding something to the cutlery drawer again. I sincerely hope not!!!!

My word is Mongrel, as in we lack it especially in our forward pack. Terrell May is doing the job of two and looks to be running on empty recently. Twal, Pole and Sione Fainu are good players without being elite. Richo should consider signing a minimum of 2 forwards in the off season. They need to carry ballast and size to we can get quick go forward ball.

We're too passive in defense, from kick chase, line speed, wrestling and contact. We keep on getting dog walked for metres post-contact by the opposition.

Couple of suggestions of players that are off contract this year below 👇

  • Daniel Suluka-Fifita - Bulldogs
  • Josh Kerr - Dolphins
  • Bunty Afoa - Warriors
  • Jaiyden Hunt - Broncos

My one word is Richo.

Somwthing has to be done. For everyone who watched that game, we were sent out with no game plan. 5 hitups and a kick? Against the best defensive team in the comp for the last 5 years? Our coaching staff gave us no hope. Play that game 100 times we lose 100 times with that game plan.

The players didnt give up but the coaching staff cant even come up with anything worth watching. Let along giving us a punchers chance.

Our playing roster is poor but coaching roster is worse

In fact I think you have to be careful judging how bad the playing roster is when the coaches are so bad.

My one word is uncoached. We have to be the most successful uncoach team going around.

One word: contest. We never contest bombs at the end of the set. Penrith went out with a plan to kick to Skelton and contest every bomb and it eventually works. Dumb football.

All our forwards are ‘passive’ we need some that are ‘aggressive’ like Liam Martin etc

@tigertownsfs You can not contest a kick if the kicker is putting the kick 35M downfield , it’s not the chasers it’s the lack of a decent kicker the pair of halves have NO long kicking game .

this is part of the problem but there is plenty of examples where we had an attacking kick opportunity and we just let the defender take it without a contest. It’s part of the reason we find it so hard to score points. There should be 3 or 4 styles of points you can score. Punch in the middle and a quick play the ball and spin out wide, contesting a kick, block shape. These should all be second nature and played on autopilot. Then when the game gets loose you play ad lib.

@joel Does anyone really think that anything is going to be different next season , another passive forward is coming in Paul the heart needs to be ripped out of the forward pack the RESERVE graders need to be moved on . Get bloody concrete shoes Twal out of getting the ball 10 mts out but no give it again and again and again . Until the pack is rebooted nothing is going to change ,the halves are stuck behind a pack that is dominated every game they have no chance of real success with these pretenders up front I only rate  three forwards that are NRL standard would not feed the rest .Get serious Richo past the coach if need be as this forward pack is the joke of the league.

I agree.

It is harsh, but there were five or six NSW Cup standard players out there last night, and that's too many for any team to carry.

Richo needs to be ruthless, surely he can see the issues??
