Agreed. Second half Blacktown boys touched us up and our boys looked like kids against them. Our kids (possible exception of Dillon) are not up to it.

I like what I saw from Peachey and he should combine well with Hastings and Laurie.
We’re lacking a real impact prop to go alongside Stefano.

Hard to take anything positive away from that game. Just continuing from last year.

Im not expecting miracles from Peachey, but unlike most of our squad, he is a footballer and an established good first grader. His best years are behind him but he has ingrained class that at a minimum will add something.

It’s frustrating isn’t it? Because he clearly has the talent. He could be that enforcer in our pack that we have never really had.
There were glimpses again tonight of how good a forward he could be.

That’s what I thought as well. Weak is how I would describe the effort tonight. We lacked urgency, aggression and mental toughness. Nobody stood out for me. Glad it was only a trial.

How do you guys feel Brooks went in the first half??
He just does not excite me in any way shape or form. He does not seem to pose any threat to put the opposition in two minds.
I know it was the first trial and I hope I’m wrong but he comes across as just going through the motions.

We were a much better side in the 1st 20 mins that Peachy played, he played a lot of 1st receiver which pushed Brooks and Madden wider making us look much more dangerous in attack. Our 2 tries, 1 disallowed, both came from our halve ball playing wider of the ruck. Curious as to why Peachy came off, was he injured?

IMO for a first trial, the halves and hookers should just be going through the motions. Get the basics established. Get to the kick etc. Having said that IMO Brooks didnt really even get that done

Exactly… at least he looks to try and make things happen.
Brooks looks bereft of ideas.. like a deer caught in the headlights.
Again… only a trial so let’s not lynch the guy just yet. But it’s been cut and paste from him the last 2 or 3 seasons.
