1) yes they are fit enough. The issue is we never win the collision and so are always on the back foot. We don’t have the big boppers needed. Any team in this situation would have the same issue. If you get on the front foot less energy is required.
2) A Wests Tigers team has never known how to defend. This is from day 1 even including 2005. But this year they had been disruptive. Except for the last two games we were affecting the opposition attack. Teams playing us were making mistakes that they normally would not do. That was no coincidence.
3) At times yes but as 2 above no. They had improved.
Defence is one part of our problem, we can’t hold the ball either and give away stupid penalties.

I dont disagree with you. I do think Madge is not the right coach for us and responsible for a very large part of our problems, however the state of our team/club is such that it is going to take a very particularly skilful individual to turn it around and Im not sure Morris (no drawing power), Flanagan (obvious problems) are the guys to do it. Ciraldo is unproven but there is a logical train of thought that he has been largely responsible for the junior development at the Riff as well as their incredible defence and first hand knowledge of their systems.
I think Madge needed to go (in hindsight, I didnt at the time), but strangely I also concede that if we cant get Ciraldo, Im worried whether Morris or Flanno will be a better bet than keeping Madge.

Our "team" are so unfit they are actually gassed 20mins into the game and all intensity drops off and they are barely trying to hold on for the last 60 whereas EVERY opposition (even Bulldogs) in a professional NRL competition keep competing for 80mins. The Penriths and Storms attack at pace, defend in a straight rushing line for the whole 80mins. We are hands on knees after 20mins. Talent has nothing to do with fitness, the front office has nothing to do with fitness. If you are the coach of a squad with a little talent as our squad, what do you think would be the first thing you make sure is at 100%? Fitness so at least we can compete. We are more than halfway through the season for Gods sake. Its actually disgusting and its 100% on Madge.
Today our defensive line just wanders up in three of four "lines" all day. Our defence couldnt even hold a straight line, like you teach kids. Actually disgusting and again, not the fault of Pascoe or Lee...or Kimmorley. Madge had this team for 3.5years.
I was ambivalent about sacking Madge because he seemed to have his heart in the club, but today is his legacy alone and Im furious.
Disagree ..the players were givn their " out clause " when they sacked Madge ....Kimmorley will never coach again so we just slipped the accountability noose off the players necks ...this club is a joke

I dont disagree with you. I do think Madge is not the right coach for us and responsible for a very large part of our problems, however the state of our team/club is such that it is going to take a very particularly skilful individual to turn it around and Im not sure Morris (no drawing power), Flanagan (obvious problems) are the guys to do it. Ciraldo is unproven but there is a logical train of thought that he has been largely responsible for the junior development at the Riff as well as their incredible defence and first hand knowledge of their systems.
I think Madge needed to go (in hindsight, I didnt at the time), but strangely I also concede that if we cant get Ciraldo, Im worried whether Morris or Flanno will be a better bet than keeping Madge.

Thats what Im worried about and I dont think it is being dramatic. I seriously doubt that this club can survive if this next step isnt the right one.
