He's the sort of signing that we need to be making to bolster the depth. Whether he's the exact guy we need is another thing, but his experience and versatility ticks the boxes. Frizell another in the same boat. 

We were signing these dads army guys as starting players recently. They're now coming on board as back up players to offset a very young and inexperienced first line team. 

It's the backline that needs a bit of polish in terms for starters.

These guys are coming because that’s it folks no one decent is signing , the coaching staff including the head coach are amateurs who would want to be apart of that ! There’s nothing wrong with targeting experience but I’d like that to be blokes in their late 20s with 100 games under their belt, not fellas in their mid 30s who should be finishing in England. I have plenty of respect for what Kurt Mann has achieved, but WT doesn’t need to provide a retirement bonus.

I guess Averillo and Brailey fall into that category of being experienced but not over the hill.

Mann will just have to be a wait and see proposition, but he is experienced depth and versatile.

I would still maintain overall that we were more than competitive when at full strength and it was injuries, suspensions and Luai exit that derailed things.

The counter argument is that Mann has a better injury track record and is likely to be bench and backup, replacing the likes of Hope or Murray.

The only way I could see such a signing being worthwhile is a cup contract with back up for first grade when injuries strike, but you make him club captain and give him mentoring responsibilities to our young blokes.

Even my wife said today that they are having trouble putting that guy (Frizell) on the ground. He still looks pretty strong.
